What happened to conservation?

Yes, I know the hurricane is a disaster. ( I sent my Red Cross donation, did you?) But in the face of this, can someone please tell me why, instead of or even in addition to opening up our strategic reserves, there is NO CALL FOR CONSERVATION?

Okay, I’m shouting. I shouldn’t be shouting at you. But come on, it’s not rocket science, is it?!

Ironically, Hugo Chavez has offered aid to the US in the wake of the hurricane disaster. (To which I’m sure Mullah Robertson will take as proof that he’s a communist and therefore should be assassinated.)

But you’re right — where is that call for conservation. And where the hell are the Democrats on this?

Oh, my goodness, well… we democrats wouldn’t want to play politics with a natural disaster. My oh my. And conservation– that’s so… libral.

The DC democrats are a bunch of pussies. No, wait, that was a slur against billions of vaginas that have more backbone than my own party. Given their inability to articulate opposition to the war, I assume the Dems will argue we should “stay the course” with Katrina.

You know, seems like a person could just ask their representatives about this, right? In fact, I’m going to go do that right now. You could too. Here’s a link to Vote Smart - http://www.vote-smart.org/ - they’ve got a little tool right on the sidebar so you can look up YOUR gov’t rep.
