Comments, anyone?

So, more quickly than I ever expected possible, I have a test WordPress site up here. I’d love to know what people think. There’s still some work to be done, but I think overall it keeps a lot of the nice design elements we’re all accustomed to. (Read: the elements Paulette was going to beat me if I changed!)

The move to WordPress promises to serve as a complete bitchslap to the comment spammers who make David, Paulette, and I spend three to six hours a week cleaning the site. Upgrading to the new version of MovableType was prhibitively expensive, and this version is just spamalicious.

Anyway, as always, you comments are needed!

  1. But I love researching spammed URLs to decide if I should blacklist the specific site or the whole root domain. How could we switch?

    MMM! Spammer Tarpit!

  2. I know this is probably too minute to mention, but right off the bat, stylewise, I like the dashed lines around all four sides of the entries on original version MT, as opposed to just two sides, top and bottom, on WP. The left margin on WP looks great. Maybe some kind of a visual divider to the immediate right of the entry text would add a little clarity, anchoring, separation, etc.? I don’t know if I’m making any sense here. Maybe that’s no big deal to incorporate on WP? Awesome site, though, keep up the great work!

  3. I wanted to log in to see what the posting console looks like, but no go. Can I get a user name and password?

  4. You will probably add this when you go live but I am dependent upon the links to other blogs. I will never be able to find Lawyers, Guns & Money unless there is a link on your site. Please don’t do that to me 😛

Otherwise, like Pam, I’d like to check out the posting interface. Thanks!

  5. Cleaner, better. Did you try centering the entire box on the page though? I think it’d be worth looking at.
